need help playing a demo

hi all ive recorded a demo of someone but i cant work out how to play it.
can anyone tell me how i go about this cos i know i aint doing it right or it would be playing and i wouldnt be posting asking.
any help or info any of u can give me would be greatly appreciated.

p.s its a demo from ns

1) Download the demo.rar
2) open the archive with winrar of course.
3) Copy the archive to C:\Program Archive \Valve\Steam\SteamApps\xxxxxxx@hotmail.com\half-life\ns

4) Create a random map of ns
5) type in console playdemo xxxxx.dem

btw "xxxx" is the name of the demo, hope it works.

Sometimes you cant play a demo on the client later because some recorded enities are missing. There are some demo-players able to view the demo by fixing this problem first. Try CSE Demoplayer http://www.raedelonline.de/downloads.php?dlid=1 (freeware ~2MB).

that demo player really done the trick one small problem though, i eneded up just recording a demo of myself playing on the server instead of the person i suspected.
(open console in ns, typed status, and typed record demo with the no:- of the person i want to record.) is that right?

need to suss this out for next time any of u guys help me out?
