How i play music or sound clips ingame?
some plays like banana phone and stuff? =))

Be sure to get also dBpoweramp to convert your songs, because the basic windows recorder will limit to about 15sec~ of recordings.

Unless u know how to specially make it do more than 15 Seconds YOu can record over 30 Min in it.

i followed the hlss tutorial and i m able ot play sound by the quality is really really bad , i cant even recognize what i m playing , anyone know how to fix it ?

i see alot off people that have problems to get the hlss to work
well it just simple what the readme is saying but !
they forgot 1 thing to say how you get it to work in the readme and on the site.
after you have instald it , the only thing you have to do is , ADD a key to the song . as you can see on this pick bellow ok , and you need to do that for evry single song , if U dont know how to script :P iam not going to tell this atm, because iam way to lazy lol how a make a music.cfg :P

my problem was : I had no script "ToggleWav" and nothing bound to del. Pikachu provided me with this link and the script and autoexec.cfg was teh trick.

BTW : there is an uber-simple way of converting your song to HL format : use winamp's disk writer.

Here's how to do it:
- Open Winamp Preferences

- select "output plugins" and "Disk Writer" and "configure" it


- In next window choose output directory(folder) where you want your HLSS files to reisde. Mark checkbox "Convert to format". Select "force WAV file" in "Output mode" and mark " Kill null samples" At last press "..." button to choose correct format.
You will be presented a standard Windows sound quality dialog:

Ensure there is a PCM choosen under "format". Select exactly 8.000 kHz, 16 bit, Mono under "Attributes".

(For your future convenience you can click "Save As..." and enter name of this format, like I named it "Half Life Quality". So next time you won't have to scroll through all those kHz, bits and monos, just choose your saved quality from first combo.)

Now just go OK, OK, OK untill all dialogs close.
Then take all songs you want to convert and put them into Winamp playlist - and press "play". You'll see all songs playing on smth like uberfast-forward and when everythin stops, you can run HLSS and load new sounds.

Don't forget to switch Winamp back to Direct Sound(default) or Wave Out in preferences. Selecting correct plugin as in first image is enough.
