Lerk "Spike"

I was playing on another server the last day and noticed they had a plugin for another lerk attack ability.

It was a sort of spike. Same sprites and gui as the skulk parasite attack but with extra damage (about 20-25 i think).

Admins, are you aware of this plugin and do you think it might be an idea to implement it? Lerks overall to me are more of a fire support role in a team. Much like a machine gunner in a platoon in real life. They provide suppressing fire with umbra and the gas.
And unless you know how to play it well the only other method of kills is the primary attack and lerk lifting a rine.

Such a plugin might highten the role of lerks a bit more.

This was removed in the early version of NS, its kinda of neat but kinda of cheap in someways too, I think the lerk isn't a very powerfull creature, maybe lerk spikes would make it a bit better becuase lerks suck up close. I think he said he wasn't goign to add this on tho.

but i have to add that an experienced player as a lerk can be a hurricane among weak to mid-level marines.

he is fast and does a lot of damage with focus to low or medium armor.


but as i mentioned in another topic i would equip the GORGE with lerk spikes!
then he could be a very useful supportive offense player.

i played ns when lerk spike was a normal attack and in my experence it makes it a lot fairer on lerks to have it.

yeah spikes were cool, i think the lerk is pretty good as it is but it does seem like something is missing, maybe a little bit more armour.

Binds or Something to Help

lerk can be the most important creature if it does umbra,spore and primal scream right, he also focus bite jprs good, but gets pwned with 20 hmg bullets, spikes are funny on co servers (like sentinel) , but if u see ingame 4 idiots that only use fade to use acid, we will have all team lerk using "spike spamm",,,,

btw, gorge spike is not a good idea, wtf its a builder unit, if i get like 10 frags as gorge in some classic rounds, equiped with spikes it would be imposible to kill, imposible to take rooms wihtout losing a lot of marines on it,,, leave the poor fat as it is

LerkSpike and gorgehook are good plugins to add, there was a plugin to make the Skulk bite an area attack, but still a close range melee,
these are a few of the ones that can make a game more interesting.

Nope... the "skill setup" is perfect as it is... Why do you think they removed it in the 1st place??
Lerks will become waaay to powerfull whit spikes!!! taking buildings and rines down at range like that whit only 1 hive...

make the lerk more powerfull?
if you know how to use the lerk skills then you can be a awesome killing machine^^
unless your fighting against a HA.. but with adrenaline you can pick him up and kill him

lerk spikes if you thinik about it would give lerks too much power, becuaae you can hid far away and use them to take down things like ha, armorys or any marine structure without the marines being able to see you.... Its kind of cheap, but also an advantage, its a cool feature nonetheless
