Others are not supposed to know that your in beta, thats breaking the NDA.

Most NDAs atleast when it comes to beta testing.

Sorry, but thats bullshit and against the law. Nobody can set an NDA for a public beta test and ships free serial codes for the C&C expansion. In some beta tests closed or public you have to agree that you won't leak any content. In some cases in corporate testings you have to sign a FNDA but you also will get payed for that

Even in the closed beta it was allowed to tell that you are a beta tester, but thats it. It was forbidden to talk about it or just give an opinion or statement. For sure not to leak any content

Unusual, most games i've beta tested, it was strictly forbidden to tell anyone you were a beta tester, was part of the NDA.

One game in particular even stated that if your housemates or family found out accidentally, that they now also fall under your personal NDA and you are responsible for them.

May be true but i've never seen such a thing in public game testing, wich are more or less just another way to make a game more popular.
