Map-Making Advice

In light of the addition of the "minimum 5 posts" rule I figure I may as well get started.

I've re-downloaded Hammer editor after a long time of hiatus from mapping (not that any of the maps I made previously were worth half a shit). Now that I want to get back into the saddle as far as mapping NS goes, I have a few questions:

1. Are there any pointers veteran mappers can give on texturing (using one texture on an entire wall and allowing it to repeat is a big no-no according to some of the mappers I know)?
2. How do I make a ready room? I imagine theres an entity up and about that makes up the join team teleports.
3. What are some WADs that contain the basic textures (i.e., walls, scummy walls, etc)?

most of the needed wads are in the natural selection directory already . I know from other games using hammer, the less walls (faces) the better it runs.

I think only 1 version of Hammer have.

And the setup can select the output game formar... Like HL1...
And need some special config file to can create NS like objects...

the SDK is for Source games only..... You must download the Half Life 1 Valve Hammer Editor.

Witch ns file?

Do you mean the ns.fgd? If yes, you can find it in your ns folder - it is included in the client installation
