ns_quake / first beta testing release

This is my first beta release of this map for gameplay testing. The water texture has to be redone and there were some slight bugs with too many light styles on a face but the r_speeds seem to be ok and all the stuff inside is working so i thought it might be a good idea to get some feedback with this pre release. Thanks goes to to Unsichtbar for a nice Stargate texture. Lets start with some screens...




The Style of this map is pretty dark but there are many welderpoints so that the marines are able to welder themselfs some more light. Well theres not much more to say so i finish with a link to download. Enjoy.

nice map but

1. i cant find comm center when entering it on the minimap

2. some ladders are a little bit above the floor

more i cant find at the moment i need some players for the map

u know really well how to name ur maps ,
i encourage u to make ur map, and 2 suggestions, take care with big halls, fps tend to die with 30 slots, also take care with excesive lighting, it also kills fps (just check out some siegerooms with windows), nothing more, just fix the minimap (i use it much lol) , and keep doing maps, its nice to have mapmakers in the server, cuz this server got unique map that others dont

the marine spawn is not inside the minimap because the idea was that the commander has to build his base inside the world behind the portal, if he was able to built inside marine spawn the marines would be able to prevent aliens from entering by just spamm nades down to the portal so i decidet to force marines base behind the portal. that may be a bad idea, if it sucks i will add some more rooms inside the rine start so that aliens are able to rush it more easily.

there should be no worse problems with the fps, max r_speeds are bout 600 in the worst case (inside the second church room on the ceiling)

and ladders,... hmm, i cant find a place where a ladder would be needet, inside the vents.. maybe

hey thats ah nice idea

on many siege maps it takes aliens very long to kill rines because of nade spammers in their base and much beacon

thats why much games become just stupid because rines think they can win but aliens took over all

no you dont need more ladders there are some which are a little bit to high out of the ground maybe i can find a screeny...

looks like a nice map =) kindof makes me continiue/start mapping some more. Pity i havent got much free time. much stuff happend lately.

We beta tested this map and the Gameplay is that crappy, i got to make some heavy changes with the Marine Spawn and the resources, some ladders. I will continue posting as soon as im done with the changes.

Yeah plz change those ladders! the marine start is very confusing in the beginning without a minimap but you´ll get used to it.

keep those maps coming always good to see new maps , love it
cant wait to play it
i only hope it will not be that dark us since i have instald x64 for my pc , maps seens to be darker then before got evrything on high brightness ect even riviatuner doesnt work so plz make bright maps

Time to release the next changes:

- Marine start restructured and addet to the Minimap.
- Ladders inside Vents
- Descreased the water inside hiveroom so that the jumppads will work for skulks and gorgies too
- Slightly increased the light of some texture lights
- Increased Commander view-height
- Increased the beam areas on the red portals
- Addet a resnode inside the middle hive, inside the middle room, inside the second church and the second resnode in marine base can be placed too

ok that were the most important changes, there are some slight texture bugs and the water looks not that horrible as it looked before but its still not acceptable. Plenty of work until the final version.I hope you enjoy.

p.s But if the map still to dark to a few of u please report it and i will try to get some more light inside the corridors.
