Natural-Selection: Source WILL COST MONEY!

Good and verry bad news for the natural-selection community! The good news are, NS:Source will become true. The verry bad news are, it will cost money and it will be sold over steam as retail game for more or less 20$.

In other news, we are preparing for imminent, earnest work on Natural Selection: Source! I wasn't sure which direction it should go, but after seeing some of the upcoming technology and features in Source, everything has become clear. There won't be any announcements until we are financially stable, but now I'm sure that's going to happen, it's just a matter of when!

For the record, NS:S will be released through Steam and will cost money ($19.95?) and will be a standalone game. From the beginning, the idea has been to create Natural Selection, give it away and then sell the sequel. Back then, I thought the sequel would be much bigger and for retail, but a lot has changed in the past almost five years since starting work on NS. Now the sequel will have a smaller scope and will be sold online, but we will retain more control, will need less money up-front and will get paid more for every copy sold. It's not what I was expecting, but it's definitely no worse! The only thing I can say about the game itself right now is that if you liked NS, you will love NS:S.

Anyone tryed Zen of Sudoku?( I haven't) If so, do you like it?

ye, i also dont care if NS:S gonna cost a bit. they somehow have to live, too

and zen of sudoku sucks.. i think, all you need for this game is time, lot of time

there are 9er lines and nine 3x3 blocks, filled with numbers, but some are missing. your job is, to fill each line and each block with all numbers from 1-9

Man, its cheap saying that its bad NS: S will go retail. Seriously.

Do you know how much these guys have done? They freakin deserve some money in return.

I think the problem arent the 20 bugs, it is the hole story behind ns. Before the ns website was down (2 years ago?) i was able to read news like we working on ns:s (there was screenshot from a ns:s model without textures). And if i'm right some news anncounced that only NS 2 will cost money not the NS:S. Doc Moron postet almost a year ago in this forum that he is sure when ns:s ever comes out it will cost money. Now we can say, he was right

I'm realy sad about this but i will not buy it. Supporting this stange guy with 20$ sounds for me not right.

lol, i promised myself i wouldn't stoop so low as to buy thigns off of steam but hey ho if ns:source is only available over steam then bugger it.

Alot of things can happen in 2 years time. Especially when developing games. We have to remember that the guy lived on donations for a very long time. Calling him "strange" and not buying an awesome game like NS (we do like NS in here yeh?) is kinda... ignorant to me.

Think about it this way instead:

NS2 ->NS:S

I'm sure they are going to add features in the game, not just port the content like valve did for HL:S.

This guy is stange because it seems to be he is thinking all in the world are stupid. Maybe he is right and the most of the humans are damn stupid and he will get his money.

My opinion is if he told us that ns:s will not cost money it should be free and not sold over steam after 2 years. Trust me, no serious busnissmen will ever set up a contract with guys like him because you can not be sure that his word will count and a contract goal will not fail in the end.

In every 2nd news on this "omg we are hacked again..." (by the way why do you think some one hack his website? because of the top secret datas?) he told to donate here, donate there, constaltion meber here and wft buy a beta of game to help us stay online. Man get a job ...

Anyway i give a damn shit about ns and ns:s it is just a game for "omg im now 18 and no kiddy anymore" kiddies. Today is my last day wasting time on this damn website and boring old game. I don't like this game anymore and i alos hate the players more or less.

What?20$?

i cant believe it Steam wants our best, our money... ...
