Battlefield 2142 Demo

EA and Dice announce the release of the Battlefield 2142 Demo

Update: Working and fast demo download mirror added

EA and DICE have announced the schedule and download locations for the much anticipated Battlefield 2142 Demo, featuring the Sidi Power Plant map. Players may join EU or PAC forces as they fight for control over this high tech key asset situated in a barren gorge in northern Africa.

This Friday (10/6/06) players can take the next step in the Battlefield universe and challenge their friends in both the new Titan Game Mode and the legendary Conquest Game Mode.

As a benefit to those players who have pre-ordered their copy of Battlefield 2142 from EA, the demo will be available to them early through the EA Downloader! Everyone else can get the demo at GameSpot starting at 9am PST on Friday 10/6/06.

Sign on, immerse yourself in Battlefield 2142, and prepare for the next age of online warfare!

Please be aware:
In an effort to reduce download times the Battlefield 2142 Demo does not contain a DirectX installer. Please be advised that in order to play this demo players must have DirectX9 installed and should ensure that the d3dx9_29.dll is present in your C:\WINDOWS\system32.

I bet 70% of the Players who order'd the game, dont understand how to do that.

When somene provide a Game, or as host of a demo, he should be hosting it as 1 installer and not as seperate ones.

Yes, most of us got that Direct X allready, up too date too, but still, not everyone, and than the Problems start again.

And for them who don't know how to and still missing some dx dll's, just download the attachment and extract it to your c:\windows\system32 directory. I missed a dll lately during installing the Call of Juarez demo too

this demo is nice. i played it for about 2 or 3 hours now but i dindn't found anything new besides the mech tank. it is like battlefield 2 and his units it is quite the same only in a more futuristic look. the only real new idea is this caputre / destroy the other base ship mode. if ea want more then 20 or 25 eurp for it i won't buy bf2142 because it is just a mod and still buggy.

As humanity fights for survival in the year 2142, your army needs you more than ever. Your past Battlefield 2 experience makes you an invaluable asset for the war of the future.

As a Battlefield 2 player you have qualified for Veteran status in Battlefield 2142. This entitles you to reserve your Battlefield 2 soldier name before Battlefield 2142 hits the shelves, making that name unavailable for anyone else to take. You can claim only one soldier name for Battlefield 2142, no matter how many soldier names you have tied to your EA account. You can also choose any new name not already in use for Battlefield 2.

As a reminder of your heroic efforts in Battlefield 2, we are pleased to announce that you will also be awarded an exclusive Veteran indicator next to your name in Battlefield 2142, so other players will recognize that you’ve had a tour of duty in Battlefield 2. You will also receive an immediate promotion in Battlefield 2142, which will let you choose an unlock. Finally, you will receive a new verbal taunt to use in Battlefield 2.
Isnt this worth its 25 Euro? XD
