I think that in order to prevent spamming, this forum need clear rules about the level of posts. Like the posts requires more words than just one or three and if there is no point in your post then don't post. I have been used to forums where you must think before you post and have a point -or moderator will delete it. And it's working great for both sides(more heart to posts->nicer to read topics). So clear rules somewhere everyone can find them and moderators to keep a lookout for irrelevant posts. With that you can get rid of the spam and maybe motivates members for better posts.
Just an idea that I think would work.

Maby it would, but Hey, Dr.Moron and Unsichtbar think its no need for any Forum-Moderator'S and Spammers can they can get those out of the way alone

Now its got quite harder for spammers to post the required ammount of postings because 25 take longer than 5 and that way its way easyer to see, if someone is spamming to get access or if he is just posting his opinion. usefull or not ... ^^

And who will do the work, to argue with all those, who write and dont think about it?
And whats a usefull post and wich not?
Sometimes, it really depend not on the number of the written words.
When you get the border to 100 or sthg. then i think that this forum wont get more active writers.

The thing is that most human beings don't think while posting. They see something, the brain relates it to something, and they write that something down...

Pretty depressing, really
